Cocktail Time!

      Bahama Mama

The Bahama Mama drink is a popular and classic rum-based cocktail that essentially emerged as a beach drink. It is considered one of the best tropical cocktails and brings together rum, coffee and coconut liqueurs and pineapple juice. The drink essentially has a sweet, fruity taste and although it contains alcohol, it does taste very much like an alcoholic drink. This cocktail is considered the most perfect drink for hot summer times.

Bloody Mary

Bloody Mary was invented in the 1920s by an American bartender, Fernand Petiot at Harry’s New York Bar in Paris. The original recipe called for equal parts of vodka and tomato juice In 1934, Petiot added black and cayenne pepper, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce and lemon juice to spice up the drink for New Yorkers when he moved back to the States and worked at the King Cole Bar, St. Regis. Petiot notes, “one of the boys suggested we call the drink Bloody Mary because it reminded him of the Bucket of Bloody Club in Chicago, and a girl there named Mary.”

Blue Hawaii

Many people assume the Blue Hawaii Cocktail got its name from the Elvis movie. In fact, however, the drink preceded that movie’s release; it was created in 1957 by Harry Yee, a bartender at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The drink did have a Presley connection — just not the obvious one. Yee actually named his cocktail after a 1937 song that Bing Crosby made famous in the film “Waikiki Wedding.” Years later, Elvis sang the same song in his film — and it gave its name to his movie.
